The key-not speaker was the well-known businesswoman and entrepreneur Luziana Lanna, hersef a mother of a former Rotary YE and a past Rotarian. Mrs. Lanna owns a chain of language schools that have over 6,000 students. She told the students of the important role they will have as Brazilian Ambassadors and how this exchange year abroad can mean a lot for their lives.

Several themes were discussed mainly related to actions to be taken before departure and right after arrival in the host country including stressing the need to learn the host language by studying harder as soon as arriving abroad.

For the first time in Brazil, a Training on Abuse Prevention was given to outbound students according to a Manual prepared for skilled professinals hired by Rotary International.
